The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of middle-aged women's dependence on smartphone on life satisfaction, focusing on the mediating effect of self-efficacy. This study utilized the SPSS 25.0 program for middle-aged women in D city and K city from September 16 to October 20, 2023. In order to verify the significance of the mediating effect of self-efficacy by conducting a structural equation model, the indirect effect was analyzed through bootstrapping. As a result of the study, first, the average of self-efficacy and life satisfaction in middle-aged women's dependence on smartphones was higher than the reference point. Life satisfaction was found to have a positive (+) correlation with self-efficacy in smartphone dependence. Second, it was confirmed that self-efficacy had a statistically significant effect on life satisfaction in smartphone dependence. Third, the mediating effect of self-efficacy was confirmed in the relationship between life satisfaction in middle-aged women's smartphone dependence. The above research results suggest that middle-aged women's dependence on smartphones is an important variable that affects life satisfaction through self-efficacy, a mediating variable.
